How to Bet Magic vs Wizards NBA Spread & Expert Pick
Does anyone want to win the wretched Southeast Division in the NBA? Someone has to, and it’s likely going to be a club with a losing record. Two teams competing for that title and the last playoff spot in the East face off Wednesday with the Orlando Magic visiting the Washington Wizards, who will be slight NBA odds favorites.

Season Series
Washington leads 2-1. The teams last played on Jan. 25 and the Wizards prevailed 95-91 in Orlando. Bradley Beal netted 27 points, including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Jeff Green scored 24 points, including 6-of-9 from three-point range, for the Wizards, who went 15-of-27 from beyond the arc as a team. Nikola Vučević led the Magic with a game-high 28 points, while Aaron Gordon tallied 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Orlando outrebounded Washington, 52-38, but struggled from three-point range (7-of-33).
The Magic trailed by as many as 18 points during the second half but rallied for a 91-89 lead after a layup by Vučević with 1:37 remaining. With the score tied at 91, Vučević missed two free throws with 59.6 seconds left, and Washington regained the lead for good on a layup by Green with 42.8 seconds remaining.
Orlando is 67-52 all-time vs. Washington (25-34 on the road) during regular-season action.
Why Bet on Orlando?
The Magic have hurt their playoff hopes by losing three of four. It was 105-97 in Memphis on Sunday. Mike Conley scored 14 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter and the Grizzlies crafted a late rally. The real swing came near the eight-minute mark of the fourth. Vucevic scored from 10 feet for an 84-81 Magic lead. But Orlando would only convert one more shot from the field, a 3-pointer by D.J. Augustin, the rest of the way. In the final minute and the game out of reach, Magic coach Steve Clifford voiced his displeasure with the officiating, drawing two technicals. That was no doubt intentional and a message to his team.
Evan Fournier was ejected early on Sunday, scoring zero points in 14 minutes with 0-of-4 shooting, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Wes Iwundu took over for Fournier after his ejection, with Terrence Ross (28 minutes) also chipping in to balance the load. Iwundu tied his season high with seven rebounds in 32 minutes on Sunday, adding seven points, two assists, and one steal. This is the third straight game in which Iwundu has collected at least six boards. Ross came off the bench on Sunday for 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in 28 minutes. Ross also made three 3-pointers, going 5-of-13 from the field overall.
Aaron Gordon (sore ribs) exited Sunday’s game just before halftime, but X-rays were negative and he returned to finish with 13 points, seven boards and six assists in 31 minutes. Gordon returned early in the third quarter after the X-ray results were announced. However, he also sat the final 10:29 of a close game with playoff implications, presumably because of the rib injury.
Gordon is questionable for Wednesday’s game. Gordon has led (or tied) the team in scoring 14 times, in rebounding 12 times and in assists 13 times. He has scored in double figures 56 times, 20+ points 17 times and 30+ points once. Iwundu (toe) is also in question.
Orlando is 13-21 this season on the road. The Magic won their ninth road game on Feb. 9 @ Milwaukee, which surpassed Orlando’s entire road win total for the entire 2017-18 campaign (8-33).

Why Bet on Washington?
The Wizards snapped a two-game skid with a 121-115 win over the Kings on Monday. Sacramento lost its sixth straight in Washington despite erasing a 14-point, first-quarter deficit and a 12-point edge the Wizards built in the third. Buddy Hield’s transition layup gave Sacramento its first lead after halftime with 3:41 to play, capping a 6-0 spurt and making it 112-111. Jeff Green and Bradly Beal each hit a pair of free throws to answer before Beal followed with a tough contested layup to stretch it to 118-112 with 51 seconds left.
Beal nearly triple-doubled in scoring 27 points with nine rebounds and nine assists. He also recorded four steals with three triples, hitting 9-of-20 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line. Washington remains in contention for a playoff spot largely because of Beal, who averages nearly double the points of any of his healthy teammates.
Tomas Satoransky had 17 points with seven assists, six rebounds, two steals, three triples and three turnovers in 37 minutes. That’s one of his best lines of the season. Over the past two months, he is averaging 11.8 points, 7.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.
Jabari Parker hit 7-of-13 shots and 1-of-2 free throws for 18 points. He added four rebounds, four assists, three triples, and three turnovers in 24 minutes. Parker has been playing well lately, averaging 18.0 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 triples on 65.5% shooting over his last five games. Bobby Portis had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Portis posted his 10th double-double of the season and sixth since arriving in Washington from Chicago in the Otto Porter trade.
