Well, it just doesn’t seem like the Gonzaga Bulldogs will be losing anytime soon.

About one week ago, reporters and analysts were expecting USC to give Gonzaga problems on both offense and defense, and that they had the perfect recipe to pull off an upset win over the undefeated Bulldogs.
The only problem was that they lost by over 20 points in that game, Gonzaga dominated the entire game and didn’t even look back.
[su_panel color=”#131518″ border=”7px solid #cc0000″]This team doesn’t panic whatsoever and can remain calm under immense pressure due to their leadership and coaching. Their big three in Corey Kispert, Drew Timme and Jalen Suggs have played well in every game this season, with Timme controlling the paint almost every game while putting up 23 points against USC.[/su_panel]

As for the UCLA Bruins, it was honestly a shock that they were able to make it this far but that is exactly how good their defense has been throughout the tournament. While they were average at best defensively in the first tournament game that they played this year, they have upped their level of play to excellence against teams like Alabama and Michigan.

They also enter this game with absolutely zero pressure because at the end of the day, who would expect an 11 seed UCLA team that shouldn’t even be in the tournament, to knock off an undefeated Gonzaga team and advance to the championship game.

UCLA will have an opportunity to do something incredibly and luckily won’t have any pressure from fans or announcers.

In this matchup, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Bruins do everything they can to try and lock up Drew Timme, he has been dominating for Gonzaga all year long and the second he gets going in the paint, the second that their outside shooters get wide open looks.

But even if they are able to take both him and Kispert away from this game, Suggs has been such a captain for this team even though it is only his first year with them, he just hasn’t made the mistakes that you would expect out of a freshman player.

[su_panel color=”#131518″ border=”7px solid #cc0000″]There is no doubt in my mind that UCLA has the players needed to at least slow down this Gonzaga offense, the problems arise on the other side of the court.[/su_panel]

Can the Bruins keep up with the Bulldogs offensively, even when they are limited?

The answer is no.

UCLA doesn’t have nearly the type of leadership and firepower that Gonzaga has offensively, and it will cause them to score far less than what they are hoping too.

So even if Gonzaga is held to around 65-70 points throughout the game, it will be very hard for UCLA to even hit those numbers especially after barely escaping Alabama and narrowly beating Michigan.

Gonzaga looks like one of the best college teams in history, it will take a lot in order to take them down.
