Warriors, Bucks in Spotlight on Weekend NBA Odds

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors will be looking to post consecutive wins over Boston for the first time since December 2015 when they continue their five-game road trip on Saturday with their first clash of the season with the Celtics.

Golden State is coming off a 126-118 victory in Washington on Thursday, and now takes a nine-game straight-up win streak into Saturday night’s matchup at TD Garden.

The Warriors have regularly racked up big totals during the recent tear that has kept them atop the NBA Western Conference standings. With Thursday’s victory as 9.5-point chalk on the NBA betting lines, Golden State has now averaged 130.1 points per game over its past nine while topping 140 points on three occasions.

Golden State has also been dominant on the road of late, tallying eight consecutive straight-up victories and covering in three of four. However, victories over the Celtics have been rare in recent years. The Warriors have posted just two SU wins in five meetings with the Celtics, and dropped a 92-88 decision in their last visit to TD Garden in November 2017, ending a four-game SU win streak in head-to-head road contests.

The Celtics hit the floor riding a five-game SU win streak, capped by Wednesday’s 123-103 rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers as 15-point favorites in NBA basketball betting.

Despite their recent surge, the Celtics remain stalled in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, but have remained strong on the NBA championship odds, trailing only Golden State and Toronto at +950.

Bucks Clash With Thunder on Sunday NBA Odds

Elsewhere on this weekend’s NBA odds, the Milwaukee Bucks vie for a fourth straight outright win on the road as they travel to Oklahoma City for a Sunday evening clash with the Thunder.

The Bucks have emerged as the most consistent team in the NBA this season, climbing into a neck-and-neck race with the Raptors for first place overall in the NBA standings while avoiding consecutive defeats through their first 47 games.

Milwaukee has solidified its position as a legitimate championship contender with recent solid play on the road, winning SU in eight of 10 contests away from Fiserv Forum after falling to defeat in six of its first 11 road dates this season.

And the Bucks are finally being rewarded for their steady performance with dramatically improved positioning on the NBA futures, climbing to +1100 on the NBA championship odds after opening the season at a distant +7500. The team has also joined the favorites on the odds to win the Eastern Conference where they trail only Toronto and Boston as a +350 bet.

The Thunder aim to avoid dropping consecutive decisions to the Bucks for the first time since 2009 as they close out a three-game homestand vying for a fifth straight outright win. Oklahoma City returns to action after disposing of the visiting New Orleans Pelicans 122-116 as 14-point favorites on Thursday night, extending its current SU win streak to four games.

The Thunder have also tallied back-to-back SU and against the spread wins on the NBA odds at home for the first since December 17, and have seen the OVER prevail in totals betting in eight of their past nine outings.
