2021 NBA Championship Odds, Preview & Predictions as Lakers look good for repeat win
As we head towards another NBA season, we look at which are the favored teams to take home an NBA Championship. We have have the latest 2021 NBA Championship odds from BetOnline and Sportsbetting.ag and predict another Champiosnship title for the Lakers.
2021 NBA Championship Odds
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers were able to take home the championship trophy last season and should be in prime position to win it all again this season. They are the clear-cut favorites this year due to having the superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The Lakers upper management has been able to fill the rest of their roster with great role players to complement each of their stars and it has paid dividends.
This offseason, they were able to flip a few of their role players for even better ones, somehow managing to pick up the top two candidates for sixth man of the year last season in Dennis Schroeder and Montrezl Harrell.
Any team that is looking to make a championship run this season is going to have to go through the Lakers.
The Clippers
The next team to watch out for this year happens to be another team stationed in Los Angeles in the Clippers.
The Clippers were the only team that could possibly take down the Lakers last season but ended up choking a 3-1 series lead over the Denver Nuggets and missing their opportunity to face off against their longtime rivals.
This year, they come back with almost the exact same roster and a chance for revenge. The star duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George makes it difficult for any team to score due to their incredible defensive instincts and length.
However, they had struggled quite a bit on the offensive end with a lot of that falling on top of George.
Paul George seemingly fell apart in the postseason, not putting up that many points and even when he did it wasn’t on high efficiency.
This Clippers team also recently signed him to a big four-year extension in the hopes that he will fix his postseason woes and form back into his old self.
Brooklyn Nets
Shockingly, some people don’t have the Brooklyn Nets on their radars this season and they are a team that everyone needs to look out for this year. They just formed a superstar duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to go along with their budding star in Caris Levert and three-point sharpshooter Joe Harris.
Their roster is young and fast and fits quite nicely around Durant and Irving. They also hired Steve Nash as their head coach, and he should also fit nicely with the roster they have and give his star players some freedom to play as they wish.
However, we haven’t been able to watch this team in action that many times as Durant and Irving both played small minutes in their preseason games.
But if their roster stays healthy this season, they could give both the Lakers and Clippers a run for their money in the postseason.
Portland Trail Blazers
Another team that people don’t have on their watch list is the Portland Trail Blazers. This team fought their way into the postseason last year but was defeated 4-1 by the eventual champions the Lakers.
They had a bad season last year that was filled with injuries and are coming into this year fully healthy for the first time in a while.
They have a superstar leader in Damian Lillard and a star backcourt mate in CJ McCollum. They should also be getting Jusuf Nurkic back for a full season after he only played around 10 games all of last year as well as their signing of Enes Kanter. Not to mention the fact that they were able to re-sign Carmelo Anthony for almost nothing after his huge comeback year last season.
The only problem that this team has is on the defensive end, as they were one of the worst teams in the league on that end of the floor. Although they were able to fix that problem in the offseason, resigning Rodney Hood, picking up Derrick Jones Jr. and signing Robert Covington.
This team may not be able to take down the Lakers just yet, but they are definitely a team to look out for throughout the season.
The Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are yet another team that will be competing for a championship this season behind their superstar trio of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
This team was very close to making it to the finals last year although they were unable to make it past the Miami Heat, who went on to face the Lakers in the Finals.
Tatum and Brown have both shown massive improvements compared to the beginning of their careers, with each of them increasing their scoring output as well as their defensive strength.
It also helps that they got an experienced and unselfish point guard in Walker who just wants to win. He is a great facilitator who shares the ball evenly and runs the pick and roll to perfection with whoever is setting the screens for him.
Not to mention that they have one of the best perimeter defenders in the league in Marcus Smart, who constantly takes on the toughest challenge defensively and excels at his job.
However, this team badly needs an upgrade at center if they hope to win the championship this year.
Milwaukee Bucks
Many of you may have been wondering why I haven’t listed this team earlier; the Milwaukee Bucks are one of the best teams in the league entering this season but have not been able to get it done in the postseason the last few years.
They are led by superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been the captain of the all-star team for the past two season and is somehow getting better and better as his career goes on. He has incredible length which makes him a force on the glass as well as defensively in the paint.
But with all of his dominance he hasn’t been able to develop a consistent jump shot, which has caused teams to wall off the paint and force him to make outside shots in the playoffs and he hasn’t been able to overcome that just yet.
This offseason, the Bucks are relentlessly trying to resign Giannis for a few more seasons and to do that they tried to go all in on free agency. They were able to pick up Bobby Portis and Torrey Craig while also trading Eric Bledsoe for Jrue Holiday.
All three of those pickups are going to help this team out in a big way with the trade for Holiday being the most important. His defense added onto Giannis and Khris Middleton will make this team very hard to score against in the paint.
However, they are going to have to get past their postseason struggles if they want any chance at winning a championship this season, but they have all the talent and the coaching to get the job done this year.
Miami Heat
Last but definitely not least, the Miami Heat deserve to be in the conversation this season. They were unbelievable in the postseason all of last year and even pushed the Lakers to six games before eventually being eliminated by the champs.
Star player Jimmy Butler worked perfectly with head coach Erik Spoelstra as the two were able to instill so much confidence in their young players such as Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson.
Those two players ended up being crucial to their playoff run, putting up tons of clutch buckets as well as scoring at a very high efficiency throughout the season.
They were also able to get massive improvement out of their center Bam Adebayo, who was even able to get himself into the all-star game last year with his incredible stats.
This team doesn’t jump off the page on the paper, but they have a level of toughness and ferocity that most of these other teams don’t have. Even if they aren’t able to take home a championship this season, they have loads of young talent on this team and should be a hard out for anybody that goes up against them in the postseason.

This season is bound to be far different than any of the past seasons.
For many teams, this is the longest offseason that they have had in NBA history and could possibly throw off some rhythm that a few players were in before the shutdown.
For other teams like the Lakers and Heat, this is the shortest offseason in the history of the league and could push some star players such as LeBron James to sit out for the first few games of the year.
There is a ton of different factors to look forward to this season, but all of the teams above are destined to make a strong playoff push in a few months and battle it out for the ultimate prize.
Early Finals predictions were pointing towards the Brooklynn Nets facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers.
While everybody has their own picks and predictions, these two teams are who I have facing off in the Finals this season. If Brooklyn were to stay healthy all season long, they would have massive experience advantages over teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics.
Once again, their duo of Durant and Irving has the possibility of being one of the deadliest duos in the NBA this year with their outstanding scoring.
On the other side, the Lakers are so strong at every position, not to mention the fact that they have one of the greatest players to ever play the game on their side. They should have no issue against the Portland Trail Blazers or the Los Angeles Clippers and should even be able to handle the Nets in the Finals if the two teams were to meet.
