The online NBA betting odds are pegging Toronto as a pretty big underdog in Game 1. This is somewhat surprising, given that Toronto is 6-4 in their last 10 against Milwaukee. However, the Bucks have gotten the best of the Raptors since Toronto is 1-2 in their last 3 versus Milwaukee. The big focal point of Game 1 for Toronto will undoubtedly be Kawhi Leonard. Against the 76ers, Leonard averaged 34.7 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. In addition, he was shooting 54% from the field. If Leonard can maintain that same level of play against Milwaukee, the odds will have no choice but to reconsider their favoritism. Granted, Leonard will have to outplay his counterpart in Milwaukee, the Greek Freak.
Players to Watch: Kawhi Leonard (31.8 ppg, 8.5 rpg, 3.6 apg), Pascal Siakam (20.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.5 apg), and Kyle Lowry (12.4 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 7.1 apg).
The Bucks are favored quite heavily and it’ll be interesting to see how they perform after coming off such a dominant series. As aforementioned, it will be up to Leonard to outperform Giannis Antetokounmpo. In the series against the Celtics, Antetokounmpo delivered an average of 28.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.6 blocks per game. Obviously the Raptors will be focused on putting a dent in Milwaukee’s stellar offense, which finished the season as the best scoring unit in the league. Comparatively Toronto finished 9th in points allowed per game, so they should be able to handle themselves on the road.
Players to Watch: Giannis Antetokounmpo (27.4 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 4.4 apg), Khris Middleton (19.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.6 apg), and Eric Bledsoe (16.0 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.3 apg).
