The Orlando Magic will be looking to take a 2-0 lead in their opening-round series with the Toronto Raptors when they hit the floor for Game 2 on Tuesday as 10-point road underdogs on the NBA playoff betting odds.
Orlando continued the steady play in Game 1 that marked the final month of its regular season, outlasting Toronto to claim a narrow 104-101 win and extend the club’s current straight-up win streak to five games going into Tuesday night’s matchup at Scotiabank Arena.
The Magic have been playing steady ball since early February, going 21-8 SU in 29 outings since February 7, including their current 12-2 SU run. Orlando’s impressive return to postseason action for the first time since 2012 has done little to improve their position on the NBA playoff odds, however. Despite knocking off the Raptors on home court in Game 1, Orlando remains a +260 underdog on the NBA series prices, and trails as a distant +10000 bet on the odds to win the NBA championship.
The Raptors will try once again to shake their dubious playoff reputation as they return to action on Tuesday night as double-digit favorites for the 16th time this season. Toronto has fallen to defeat in five straight playoff contests, and has now posted outright losses in 10 of 11 playoff-openers in franchise history.
Toronto remains perched among the favorites on the NBA playoff lines, trailing only Golden State, Houston, and Milwaukee as a +1200 bet on the NBA championship odds. But the Raptors have struggled to post consistent results in recent outings on home court, going 5-4 SU and 4-5 against the spread in their past nine games, and have tallied consecutive SU wins just once during a 3-3 SU run against the Magic at Scotiabank Arena.
Thunder Underdogs at Blazers on Tuesday Odds
Elsewhere on the Tuesday NBA playoff odds, the Portland Trail Blazers look to seize a 2-0 lead in their opening-round series as they enter Game 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder as narrow 2-point home favorites.
The Trail Blazers drew first blood with a 104-99 victory over Oklahoma City as 3-point home chalk on Sunday, lifting them to -130 favorites on the NBA playoff series prices after entering the postseason as +113 underdogs.
Portland quietly emerged as one of the best teams in the NBA down the stretch, going 14-3 SU in its final 17 regular-season outings to claim the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. But a strong finish has failed to shake the memory of the Trail Blazers’ recent playoff failures that has seen them bow out in the first round in nine of their past 11 postseason appearances.
As a result, the Trail Blazers continue to lag on the NBA playoff lines, pegged as a lengthy +5000 bet to win their first NBA title since 1977, and as a +2200 wager to win the Western Conference.
The Thunder’s opening-game loss hasn’t helped their flagging NBA playoff odds. In addition to slipping to +110 underdogs on the NBA series prices following their first defeat in six outings, the Thunder are now winless SU in 10 straight playoff games, and have tumbled to a long +4000 wager on the odds to win the NBA championship.
