2019 NFL Week 5 SU Betting Picks.

NFL Week 5 Analysis & Expert Straight Up Betting Picks

Week 4 of the NFL season will come to a close on Monday night with a must win game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams have started the season with 0-3 record, so a win is essential for both teams if they are to have any shot at making it into the postseason. I have my picks already sorted for that game, but I have also started looking ahead to NFL Week 5 to see if anything immediately jumps out.

I will be creating a number of different picks, as I do every week, but for the purposes of this piece, I will strictly be looking at the SU picks for Week 5 of the NFL betting action, so let’s get right to it.

2019 NFL Week 5 SU Betting Picks

L.A. Rams over Seattle Seahawks

The L.A. Rams are coming off of a stunning loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, going down 55-40 in a game that they started as a 9-point favorite. They will have another tough one ahead of them on Thursday night, as they will be on the road to the Seattle Seahawks as a 1-point underdog.

The Rams are just 3-11 in their last 14 visits to Seattle, but they are 7-3 SU overall in their last 10 meetings with the Seahawks. I think that the Rams are just too good to play that poorly in back to back weeks, which is why I think they bounce back and deliver a big road win here.

NFL Week 5 Betting Trends

  • Rams are 7-2 SU in their last 9 games
  • Rams are 12-2 SU in their last 14 games on the road
  • Seahawks are 9-3 SU in their last 12 games
  • Seahawks are 6-1 SU in their last 7 games at home

Tennessee Titans over Buffalo Bills

When the Bills got off to a 3-0 start to the season, there was a lot of talk about them being a potential dark horse. They may have lost in Week 4, but they also still impressed, taking the New England Patriots right down to the wire in a 16-10 loss.

They will be on the road at the Titans this weekend, going against a Tennessee team that is coming off of an impressive 24-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons on the road. Week 5 has not been good to the Titans, who are 1-7 SU in their last 8 games at this stage of the season. On the plus side of things, they are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games at home versus Buffalo.

NFL Week 5 Betting Trends

  • Bills are 4-1 SU in their last 5 games
  • Bills are 1-4 SU in their last 5 games when playing on the road against Tennessee
  • Titans are 6-3 SU in their last 9 games
  • Titans are 1-7 SU in their last 8 games played in week 5

Carolina Panthers over Jacksonville Jaguars

We all know the stats about how difficult it is to make the playoffs after getting off to an 0-2 start to the season but getting back to winning ways immediately certainly helps the cause. That is the situation that the Carolina Panthers find themselves in after the first 4 weeks.

The Panthers are favorites against the Jaguars in NFL Week 5.

The Panthers have bounced back nicely, reeling off back to back wins, and with the Jacksonville Jaguars coming to town in Week5, they have a very good chance of making it 3 in a row. Carolina has gone 8-2 SU in their last 10 meetings against teams from the AFC.

NFL Week 5 Betting Trends

  • Jaguars are 4-12 SU in their last 16 games
  • Jaguars are 2-7 SU in their last 9 games on the road
  • Panthers are 3-9 SU in their last 12 games
  • Panthers are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games against an opponent in the AFC conference

Green Bay Packers over Dallas Cowboys

There were a bunch of teams who went into Week 4 of the season with an unbeaten record, but only 2 of them escaped unscathed. Two of the teams whose perfect records were busted will be hooking up this weekend, with the Green Bay Packers heading on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys.

This looks to be a very good match-up, but it is the Packers who have had the better of this meeting, going 7-3 SU in their last 10 games. Better yet, they are 7-1 SU in their last 10 meetings with the Cowboys. This is taking a bit of a chance, but I am on the Packers to win.

NFL Week 5 Betting Trends

  • Packers are 4-2 SU in their last 6 games
  • Packers are 2-9 SU in their last 11 games on the road
  • Cowboys are 11-3 SU in their last 14 games
  • Cowboys are 2-5 SU in their last 7 games played in week 5

Rest of the Week 5 Schedule

  • New England Patriots vs Washington Redskins
  • Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Arizona Cardinals vs Cincinnati Bengals
  • Atlanta Falcons vs Houston Texans
  • Tampa Bay Buccanneers vs New Orleans Saints
  • Minnesota Vikings vs New York Giants
  • Chicago Bears vs Oakland Raiders
  • New York Jets vs Philadelphia Eagles
  • Denver Broncos vs Los Angeles Chargers
  • Indianapolis Colts vs Kansas City Chiefs
  • Cleveland Browns vs San Francisco 49ers
